We recorded.
SPEAKER_01Okay. I don't know what is happening.
SPEAKER_05I don't know either. Oh, wait, I forgot that we start a certain way. Because I was about to be like, I don't know. I was about to say something different. What were you gonna say? I wasn't even waiting for you to start. Like I was like thinking about what I was gonna say. You're like, what welcome? I was gonna be like, well, guys. Anyway, I don't know. So weird. It was really weird. Anyway.
SPEAKER_01Hey! Hey, I'm No Way Yell.
SPEAKER_05And I'm Marissa, but No Way Yell calls me Pete. Yes, I do. And welcome back to Take It Home. When I was a little kid, I used to always say, My name's No whale. No, no whale. No whale. No whales. No whales. No L. And case you guys don't understand my profile picture on Instagram. It's literally just my name. It is no L. No L. L with a line through it. People think I'm protesting something, but I'm not. How long has it been like that? Years. I don't even remember when I'm. I mean, since I met you, but like, has it always been your profile picture? No, but I don't remember what it was before. Was it that when I met you? I think so. I mean, I don't remember it being anything else. I don't either. Like, I don't know if I would recall. Is there a way I can find out? I don't know if there is. But yeah, it's been that for a long time. I've thought about changing it to like an actual picture of myself, but I don't think I'm going to. You shouldn't. I think it's so iconic. Okay. Like it would be weird if you had a different right? If it was a picture of me smiling or something. Yeah. Like that'd be weird. Anyway. Anywho. You guys, it's a very special soda.
SPEAKER_04Should we sing? What are we singing? Happy birthday to you. Wait, to us? Happy birthday to us. Happy birthday to take it home. Happy birthday to us.
SPEAKER_05It is our 52nd episode.
unknownWoohoo!
SPEAKER_05Meaning that it has been a year of episodes. Which is wow. That is crazy. It is really crazy. You guys, I would like to say that we did not miss a single episode. We recorded, edited, did all the the sips and all the things every single week this year. I'm really proud of us. I'm really proud because that wasn't necessarily a goal. Like, I mean, we had our schedule, like we wanted to post every Thursday. But I like I remember I got sick once and I was like, I don't know if I can get the f the episode edited in time, but then I ended up doing it. So like it was never a like I figured we would skip for some reason. Yeah. But then we just kept going and uh we have a year of episodes. Wow, that is that is crazy. So today is gonna be a take-it-home birthday party. Woo! Thank you for joining us. Thank you guys. We are so appreciative of every single one of you. Whether this is the 52nd episode you've listened to, I almost said 50 tooth.
SPEAKER_04Whether this is the 50 tooth episode. Oh my god, that's whether this is the 52nd, 50 tooth, 50 tooth, whether this is the 50 tooth episode you've listened to, or it's the first.
SPEAKER_05If this is the first episode you're listening to, welcome. Don't worry, there will be plenty more to come. Um, but we are just so appreciative of every single one of you. It means so much that you guys care to listen to us in my literal bedroom, just talking about random shit in our lives. It's just been really meaningful. It's been very meaningful and so fun. And I'm very excited to see what the future holds. And we're excited to have a little celebration. We have some fun things planned for this episode. Yes, we do. Um, let's get into it with our sippy of the weekie. Ssippy of the weekie. This week we have Ba Bum. Of course, yet again, another Curious Elixir mocktail. Sorry. No, it's okay. Another Curious Elixir mocktail. This is Curious Number Two, Spicy and Stormy Pineapple Margarita. Boost Free Craft Cocktails. Wait, hello? Boost free craft cocktails by Curious Elixir's. Spicy and Stormy. This one is my favorite, I think, that we've tried. So this is the third Curious Elixir that we've tried from Curious Elixirs. We had the non-alcoholic red wine. We had the coconut pineapple painkiller, which was also very good. That I think that was my favorite. But I think I think I just love carbonation. This one's slightly carbonated. It's like very refreshing. Pete loves carbonation. I personally don't, which is so I think that's why I liked the other better. But I'm still going to drink this whole thing and I think it's very tasty. Cheers. It's like thirst quenching. It is thirst quenching. Very refreshing. I love that they are all the flavors are so layered. Like it really does an ogre. Like an onion. Like a parfait. Like uh like the earth. True. Wait, what are the different layers called? Oh, I have no idea. There's like the core that's like the inner of everything. I have no idea. Wait. But I do remember learning about rocks, like the different kinds of rocks. Sedimentary. Sedimentary? I don't remember. I don't remember the clouds. I remember sedimentary or sedimentary ones are like soft, like sand, like they're porous. We have the atmosphere, duh, the crust, upper mantle, lower mantle, outer core, inner core. That's so crazy. This is an educational podcast. This is. Oh my gosh. It's weird that the the earth has layers. Like, what do you mean? Like, what are the other like what's down there? What is in the core? What the hell? Wait, okay, look at it. Wait, it's it says right here. The crust is the thin outer layer, the mantle is the semi-molten rock layer, outer core is liquid iron and nickel.
SPEAKER_01Inner core is solid iron and nickel. What is lava?
SPEAKER_05What is nickel? What the hell is that nice? I'm allergic to nickel. Is that the same nickel? Yeah. Okay. What is lava? I don't get it either, you guys. Like, what are we doing on this on this floating layered ball? Lava is molten or semi-fluid rock that erupts from a volcano or fissure. Fissure? Fissure. Fissure? Fissure. Did I say it right? I don't know what you said. Fissure. Fissure. Fissure.
unknownFissure. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_05Fizz fissure. Onto the earth surface. Mmm. I want to see lava and not you going.
unknownMmm. I don't know.
SPEAKER_05That was weird. Mmm. Lava. Wait. Oh my gosh. I want to see it in real life. I want to go to a cochino. Yeah, but like at a safe distance. Um, anyways. Wait, how the hell do we start talking about that? I don't know. We were still talking about our sip. Back to the sip, you guys. Curious elixirs. Their drinks are so good. Oh, I was saying the flavor profile is very layered for all of the drinks. So yeah, it really does taste like you're drinking a cocktail. It does. You know, it's like sophisticated. It's not like juice, you know. Um, but you can try it for yourself with our discount code um Home10 on Curious Elixir's website. You can get $10 off an order of $50 or more. You guys should definitely check it out. Whether or not you drink alcohol. If you do drink alcohol, cool. You can get Curious Elixirs and drink it as a mock tail and have alcohol another time. Yeah. If you don't drink alcohol, this is perfect for you. Yeah. Smile smile of the week, smile, smile of the week. Smile of the week, smile, smile. Smile of the week. Way to go off the what's the phrase I'm looking for? Off the deep end. No. You took a detour on it. Off the rocker. Do you know what your smile is? No. I know what mine is. You go first. Okay. My smile is that I had an I had an Hello. Wait, this is hard to say. I had an incredibly artistically fulfilling day two days ago. I shot the cover art for my new music release that's coming out hopefully within the next couple months. Um so it was stills, but also we did um video, like a visualizer. I am working with Brooke Bannister. The best who is the best. She actually did our photos for the podcast. If you've seen, if you're looking at the cover right now on your phone, Brooke took that picture. She's incredibly talented. I worked with her for my last album. I worked with her for photo shoots in the past as well. Like I just love collaborating with her and she's amazing. Shout out Brooke, but shout out Brooke. She's also getting into video and directing, and she is so incredible. I just I love working with her. I feel so comfortable with her. She's an amazing collaborator. But it was just so fun. I was very nervous because I get a little nervous in front of the camera, but Brooke always makes me feel so comfortable. Um, but I had so much fun. And I also, so like I had my mood board, I had little vibes I wanted to curate, I had my outfits, but I didn't have I wasn't married to any certain anything too much, you know. Like I really wanted to walk in there and collaborate with Brooke and see like what she thought and just like go with the flow and see what happened while we were there and what came out of it. And that's exactly what happened. And I love that. But it still had the essence of like everything I envisioned for it. And it was just so cool to be there and think, wow, a year ago I was like writing these songs. Wow. And now it's like all coming to life, and making art is so cool. Making art is very cool. I literally said to Brooke, I was like, We're just doing this. Like, we don't have to be doing this. Yeah, no, but we're just doing this, and it was awesome. And we also had no time limit, which is not that's like a luxury, I feel like, especially we were working out of a studio space, so we had the whole day, and I wasn't expecting to go over like a couple hours, but dude. I we arrived at 12:30. Suddenly we look at our phones and we were like, it's seven o'clock. I was scared. We didn't leave until like eight. We were like there for eight hours, just like in a flow state. I wasn't thinking about anything else. Like, I wasn't on my phone all day. It was a complete, just like it was so fulfilling, and I'm so excited to see what comes out of it. And I'm so excited to look at the photos and like choose what the cover is gonna be. That's crazy. I just had like the best day, and it reminded me why I love doing what I do, you know? It's just like so meaningful to me. And I hope that it these songs like impact someone else. They've impacted me. Aww. Thank you. Like for real Z's. And they made Nan cry. Aww. Yeah, I'm very, very proud of this little project. And I'm proud of myself and proud of her and yay! That's my smile. Well, Pete, what an amazing little smile. Or big smile, I guess, not little. It was a really good one. I'm really excited for it's everything to finally be out and for the world to hear your new songs. And then like it just makes me feel so inspired. Inspired? Inspired Spider-Man. Inspired. I wrote a song the other day too. You did? What the freak? And I'm just very excited to like get back and make more. Can I hear the new one? You can hear it once I like record it. Because right now it's like a really shitty voice memo and it's not good. Wait, what is this one about? Well, well, well, my sweet, sweet Pete. Everybody be on the lookout for Pete to release music. Or Marissa Nayhas to release music, I should say. My stage name. Her stage your stage name is your real name. What if your stage name was Pete? I've actually thought about it. I'm not even kidding. I feel like it could be like one of those like indie like names, like Claro. Pete. When it's Pete. Yeah, all caps. Pete. I don't know. I don't know. Like Lani, Lani, Lani, Lani. Wait, or like Loffy. What if you were Petey, but it was just P T. Like the letters Pete. No, I hate that. PT. Do you guys want to hear my smile? Yes, I do. Okay. Well, I guess mine is artistic as well. I perform. Oh yeah. Um, I sang um a few songs in my friend Stephanie's solo show. Um, I sang two duets, one trio, and then background of another song. And it was just awesome and special. And I felt very honored that she asked me to ask, hello, asked, asked me to do it. And I haven't, you know, performed in a while. I mean, the last time I performed was September. Holy shit. So it's been almost a year. Wow. Wait, oh my god, that's so long. That is long. Now I'm thinking about when is the last time I performed? Wait, I'm scared. Yeah, it's crazy. Anyways, but I it was nice to perform. I felt very flattered and honored. Also, I normally am producing the shows that I'm performing in, so it also it felt nice to just focus on my singing and learning my music and doing that for a couple of weeks and not all the other stuff. And yeah, it just felt really good. It did make me realize though, like I felt a little normally I feel like I'm like taking the stage when I'm on stage, but I felt kind of nervous. Maybe it's because I'm not doing it as much. But I feel like nerves are normal. I guess that's true. I'm always nervous every time I perform. Yeah, I guess that's true. That's like makes sense. I don't know. I just feel like I used to be, but I feel like it probably enhances it the more you step away from something. Yeah. Coming back to it. I just miss doing it often. Yeah. Um, because now I'm thinking about the fact that it's been like a year. The show was so good. I went to see it. She did, she did. And it was so good. And I love seeing people making opportunities for themselves. It's like the best thing ever. It is. And it was fun to see you sing, and it was so cute. And all three of you have amazing voices. Thank you. Dude, Stephanie, I was just so honored that she asked me because I looked up to her, ironically, because she was the year below us at Elon. But I've always just like looked at her and been like, she's a star. She's so good. And so like her voice is insane. And she's also so passionate when she sings, too. Like she is locked in. Yeah. Like she's in it. She is just like she's such a star. So I'm just like, yeah, I've always looked up to her. So it was just crazy and so awesome to finally be able to sing with her. And yeah, that was my thmayle. Thmy. Okay. So welcome to our birthday party. Thank you. So we're gonna do a little podcast wrap. What's something you do at a birthday party?
SPEAKER_02You unwrap gifts.
SPEAKER_05Oh my god, Pete, you're being so creative. I know. I know. That's what I just sounded like. Um but you didn't like my gift idea. Well, I was like, we should just gift each other random objects from the house. And I was like, so I was thinking, like, oh, so like I find something in my room and like give it to you, like random. And she was like, no, like I'll like give you the vacuum. I literally responded like, eh. Like, I thought it'd be funny if we're like, we got each other presents in our house. And then I'm like over here and I'm like, this is what I got you, and it's just a random object. And then like we don't, I don't know what and that would take up 30 seconds of the pod. Because we'd be like, oh my god, thanks. I'm just kidding. We're gonna do it later. I'm gonna make Pete do it. We can do it. Wait, but let's do this one because this is Oh, I just wanted to go through some statistics, some little things. Take it from I wanted to look at what our most listened to episode was for the year. What do you think it was? Um, besides our very first episode, like introducing it, because I think that one is the highest, probably. Is that the one? Yeah, our introduction episode is the most listened to. That's crazy. Um I don't even remember it. I don't know what's in second place. Let me see. And this is just coming from the podcast platform, so it's not including YouTube, but I think it would probably align. My guess is gonna be our men okay. That's what I think too. But let me see. Oh, interesting. Okay. Ooh, neck and neck. Our second place is moving to a new city. Oh, and then our third place is our men okay. These make sense, it does make sense, and then fourth place is real self-care. Oh. And then we have a lot that I like hang out in the same place. But yep. So that's that. And then I was looking at how many downloads and whatever we've had for the entire year. For the entire year? Take a gander. Wait, I'm scared it's gonna be really off. Downloads for the whole year. This is across all platforms. 1,500? Is that like nothing or is that like a ton? 16,301. Holy fuckity fuck! Yeah, I'll be guessing 1500. Damn, I should have believed in us a little more. Yeah. Wait, 16,000 downloads? 16,301. At the time I looked at this earlier, so it could be more now. Wait, that's a lot. It's a lot, and like divided by 51 episodes. Yeah, do that, man.
SPEAKER_02But you guys, we're a little baby podcast still, but we're little babies.
SPEAKER_05Divided by 51 episodes. Wait, not even 5150, because our 51st is technically not out yet. Oh, true. Wait, what did I just say? 16,301. Divided by 50. Divided by the amount of that's an average of 326 listens per episode. That's honestly pretty awesome. Which is pretty awesome for us just starting out. And also I'm like, who are those people, you know? Who are you guys? Who are you? Uh hey, if we don't know you and you listen to this, let us know. I want to know. Comment DM us. We want to know. We love every one of you. Yeah. For real Z. So I thought that was a cool little, and I was just curious what you would think versus what it actually was. Because it was a little higher than I expected. That's awesome. Because you know, we're still we're still just starting out, y'all. I don't know why I guessed so low, actually. Because thinking about it, that would only be like two downloads per episode. And like that's I know what's more than that. Yeah. Okay. I thought it would be fun to talk about what were our favorite, what was our favorite episode to do, to record. Oh my gosh. This is hard because I actually haven't thought about this. I need to look at the list of our shows. Same. Or like one you're most proud of, or like just your favorite episode. These titles are so funny. Trick or truth. I want the Grinch to think I'm hot. I still do. This is hard because I've loved so many of our different episodes for different reasons. I loved survival jobs. That one was funny. That one was really funny. I obviously loved Our Men Okay. You guys, if you haven't listened to Our Men Okay, you need to. That's a really good one. And we need a part two. Season two will have a part two. Mm hmm. Um, I also really loved the episode we we did with Andrew about BFA life. I loved that one too. I just had so much fun recording that one because it was like we were going down memory lane. That was really fun. Oh my god, like so many of them. I'm just like, wow. I know. Also, one that was really meaningful to me was the episode we did in Florida with Michaela. Oh my god. During Women's Month. The one about, you know, we we got, I think maybe the most vul vulnerable during that episode. And I just think we talked about some really important things. And like Yeah, that one. That one was a surprise too because I wasn't expecting to be vulnerable in that one. We weren't expecting to talk about some of the things we talked about. Yeah. But there's been so many episodes that I've loved doing. I um liked doing the mental health one, talking more about OC, like my entire history of my mental health. Just personally, I don't know. It made me feel. How did it make me feel? I don't know. It just felt nice to open up about it and be fully transparent. I feel like I've been very honest the entire time we've been filming the podcast. I agree. Almost to a point where I'm like, ooh, like, do I want to say that? Or ooh, am I like, I'm like, make myself cringe. Bro, I cringe still at the perfectionism episode when Sarah texted us today and was like, I'm listening to this one. I'm like, I just feel like that one part where I'm like, I'll show up late to work. I don't give a fuck. Like, I could have cut it out. No, I know. But I also like, it was funny. Like, and that's not whatever. But anyways. Yeah, I mean, I think we are just being ourselves and being very vulnerable, and that can be scary, especially just like editing it and like watching it back. And I have to like not try not to edit myself too much because you know, you never know like what when what is gonna help someone else. That's so true. When you say it. Which so did we laugh in the most? Which sew did we laugh in the most? Like that's what I'm trying to think, because then that would have been another fun one to film. Um, where we're giggly. Like, I like when we're like really silly. Armen okay. Yeah. Also the one we did recently when we were talking about hair. What which the one we did recently that was We're figuring out hair lengths. Oh my god, do you think it was just like our catching up episode and our search history? Was our men okay the one where you talked about the chicken? Yes. Yeah, that was hilarious. And then you talked about the guy who made fun of and showed you his shark bite. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my gosh, there's just been so many good little conversations. Crazy stories. And I can't wait to see what else comes about. I know. We gotta live more lives, we have more things stories to tell. Exactly. Okay, my next question. What was your favorite sip of the week? Probably the Brazilian lemonade or the Brazilian Limeade. Yeah. Like, I mean, that was just insane. I still think about it. Honestly, I think I agree. It was so freaking good. So good. That was a fun episode, too, the travel one. Oh my gosh, right. That was our travel episode because you came back from Brazil. Also, our episode about our road trip, that was very fun as well. You guys are me making you want to go back and listen to all of these. Yeah, right? But I think my favorite sip was also the Brazilian um Limeade. So good. Excluding curious elixirs and maple water, obviously. Yes, of course. Thinking about the sips that we made homemade. What was the worst one? I know what it was. The banana bread latte. Yep. The banana bread latte. But I like cooked it. Noelle tried to make what episode was that for? Oh, that was for the self-care episode. One of our most listened to ones. But Noelle tried to make like a banana syrup. But then you ended up like you said you ended up cooking the bananas kind of accidentally. Like I cook like I think you're supposed to kind of cook them for the syrup, but I cooked them for too long or something, and then it tasted just like I don't know. Like it just didn't taste like what you want for a latte. It tastes like cook lot cooked latte. Cooked latte. It tasted like more like bread than banana. Yeah, like it tasted like for some reason. How did it even taste like bread? Dude, we I need to go back. Did we take our first sip during the sewed? Yes. Because if so, I need to play that. Because we I remember being like, I'm so excited for this one. And then yeah, it was um in the real self-care. Hey, I'm Noelle and I'm Marissa, and welcome back to South Home.
SPEAKER_01Okay, first things first, our drink of the day. We've got drink banana bread lattes. So we're actually filming in the morning today. So we're drinking lattes. I'm drinking lattes. Banana bread flavored. I'm very excited about this. I really hope it's good.
SPEAKER_05I need a lot of milk from French banana milk.
SPEAKER_01So, okay, let me tell the people how I need it. So I need uh banana bread milk. Um I melted my own pow. Just kidding. So I I got milked before bananas, walnuts, almonds, oxyclops, and cinnamon, boiled it, started all up, then I blended it, then I spoiled it.
SPEAKER_03It's not bad. It's not the like, it's not horrible. It's okay. Yeah. I kind of want it to be a little sweeter. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01God damn it. That sucks. You live and you learn.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. No and I we cook a lot of listening to you like explaining everything. I'm like, I'm like actually laughing so hard.
SPEAKER_04I was so excited and so calm. I boiled it.
unknownI boiled it.
SPEAKER_04I boiled the milk of the vanillas and the extract. And I remember cooking um boiling walnuts in it too.
SPEAKER_05I boiled walnuts in there. It makes me think of that video we found of us when we were really, really drunk. Oh my god! I was he my pants couldn't breathe laughing. We were like scrolling through old videos of us one night for some reason, and we found this video we were looked plastered, and it's like we just came home from the bar and they were making a meal before we went to bed, but like what was it? It was like it looked like butter and salami in a pot. It's like we were like heating up salami in butter. I will insert this video. I need to watch this because I posted it on TikTok too. We were probably making pasta, and we were like, let's like fry the salami. Yeah, but it looks disgusting.
SPEAKER_06Oh my god.
SPEAKER_05Oh my god. Here it is. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01You like what's the yellow stuff?
SPEAKER_04What's the yellow?
SPEAKER_05Is it just like butter? That's a lot of butter. Oh my god. Anyway, yeah, that was the worst sip. Brazilian Lemonade or Limeade was also my favorite. And then a second place was a sip that was very similar to that one. It was the pink. Wait, what was pink about it? Wait, what?
SPEAKER_04Wait, what are you there? Wait, what? What are you talking about? The sip. No, but like, what was it?
SPEAKER_05I think it was like a grapefruit salt. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Sea salt. Like creamy shaken. Yeah. That one was really good too. It was like had grapefruit in orange. The way you're saying there's something pink about it. I feel like I named it pink something, but I don't know. Oh, that's what you mean. I was like, I don't know what you mean. Maybe it was like pink grapefruit thum. Sum. Pink shaken sea salt shake. Let me look it up. Sip e up weak e. It's so funny that we used to call it, would you say drink of the day? What's a drink of the day? Drink of the Yeah, that's weird. Drink of the day. Like what? Shaken salted pink lemonade. Yes. That was good. That one was really good too. That one had two lemons, one orange, half of a ruby grapefruit, coconut cream, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt shaken and served over ice. That was so good. That was so yummy. Um I like it. Then I just looked at our um how many different countries do you think our podcast has been has been listened to has been listened to in? I'm gonna say 10. 62. Holy fuck! 62 different countries. 62? Yes. What are the top ones? So the top, and then let's do like the top ten. Obviously, United States, Australia. That's number two, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, UK, Germany, Sweden, Finland, and Canada. And they all have like multiple plays. Interesting. Yeah. So obviously a large percentage of that is the US right now. But let yourselves be known. Let yourselves be known. Yeah. And then it keeps going. Italy, France, Netherlands, Spain, South Korea, Ecuador, Israel, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Russian Federation, New Zealand, Ireland, Philippines, Chile, Nepal, South Africa, Hungary. What is the bottom? The bottom, bottom, Portugal. There's a lot of countries, you guys. Oh, that's crazy town. And next, holy shit. How many total cities do you think our podcast has been listened to in? If it's 62 countries, I'm gonna say 300 cities. 472. Wow! What are the top cities? The top ones are I wanna guess. Okay. New York City. New York, New York. It's number one. Um number two. Like, here's the thing. I wanna say McComb, Michigan, and also Greensboro, but then that's like just well, no, that's not true. I'm gonna say Greensboro. Number two is Brooklyn. Okay, that makes sense. Number three, McComb. Macomb. How did I get that? Thanks, fam. Number four. Greensboro. Number four is Queens. Oh. I guess that's considered another city. And number five is Greensboro. Okay. I'm glad Greensboro was in the top five. Thank you, Greensboro. I was a little nervous for a second. Charlotte is number six. Thank you, Liv. San Francisco is a number seven. Thank you, Kathleen. You can Audrey. Utica, Michigan is what number am I at? I don't know. The city in Australia is number nine. So that's all I have for like the statistics, our favorite things from the missing. I thought we could play a game. Game, game, game. I don't know. This might be stupid, but it could also be fun. Okay. I wanted to like pick an episode at random and then scroll to a random part in the episode. And then like it'll be in the middle of a sentence or whatever, and then we'll pause it and we have to try to finish the phrase, whatever we think we said next. That's fun. Okay. Okay. Do you want to go first? And do you want to be the guesser or the pauser? I'll be the pauser. Okay. Okay. Whoa, I'm scrolling. Do a random one. I'm scrolling and randomly, and I'm gonna bam. Niche things we love. Is that the Great Wolf flaws? Oh, wait, that was a funny one too. Niche things we love. And here's where I'm gonna play it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. We have not. I love hearing about like the little Oh my god.
SPEAKER_05Um, I love hearing about the little things that people love in their everyday lives. That is something you would say. Let's see.
SPEAKER_02I love hearing about like the little things that people love because it makes you like think about it and and and it makes you be like, oh, I also I love that. Well, I just actually found another list of things I love.
SPEAKER_05That was a horrible sentence of mine. But that was still like that was that was on in line with something with what I said. Okay. My turn for you! Oh my gosh. What episode is it gonna be? What episode is it gonna be? Oh, this is a recent one. Catching up, Love Island, and our search history. Okay. What are sticks? It's like Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays or something like that. Would you um what did I say? Did I say would you or just would you? I think. Would you want me to watch Big Brother with you this season?
SPEAKER_02Big Brother's on three times a week. Okay.
SPEAKER_05So it's like, I think it's like Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, or something like that. Would you like want to watch it with me, or is this something that you need to I want to watch it with you, but like okay, like you got it. Yeah. Cause I knew those were the days that Big Brother comes on. Why is that so like I'm like, oh, would you want to watch it with me? That's well, Lacasa. That makes me sad. And we are watching it, folks. We are watching it together, and I we need I want to watch this episode. I do like it. I couldn't tell in the first episode, but now I'm invested. Now that like this. Devons is fucking light up. Yeah. Okay. That's true. Your next turn. I like this game. And bam. Wait, hello? It went away. And bam. The life of a music theater major with Andrew Stevens Purdy.
SPEAKER_03Wait, did I like text you? Was I like Andrew? Was that about me? Yeah, and I was like, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then I think we had a phone call and I was like, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03Wait, that is so funny. I mean, honestly, I get it.
SPEAKER_05I mean, honestly, I get it though. I would feel that way too if I were like all by myself during COVID and I saw my friends hanging out. I didn't even remember what I was talking about. So I remembered. Wait, okay.
SPEAKER_00But I think like you had seen it and you were like, what? And then I was like, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03Wait, did I like text you? Was I like Andrew? Was that about me? Yeah, something like that.
SPEAKER_00And I was like, yeah. And then I think we had a phone call and I was like, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03Wait, that was so funny. I mean, honestly, I get it though.
SPEAKER_01We were, I mean, yeah, we were hanging out in a group. Technically, we were in our bubble though. Like, we weren't, we were only hanging out with each other. But like, I get it.
SPEAKER_03I would probably would have been really mad just if I was by myself during a moment and didn't have friends to social distance or so like I kind of got it.
SPEAKER_05You did got there eventually. Yeah, eventually got there. My turn, my turn. Surrendering to your truth featuring Tara Willie. I got brunch with her today.
SPEAKER_01I've never been pregnant. No, I need you to listen to that thing I'm gonna cut it. It's up. Like, what?
SPEAKER_05I said, I've never been pregnant. I do not remember this. I said, it's uh what? I've never been pregnant. I think I remember like the conversation we were having. I mean, I've never been pregnant, but it's uh something that could happen and and women's health needs to be taken more seriously. All right, let's see.
SPEAKER_01I've never been pregnant. No, I need you to listen to that thing we said it's off like what if one, there's no studies that prove that Tylenol causes autism. To tough it up. Yeah, you try having growing a literal child in your body for nine months.
SPEAKER_05I mean, I've never even been pregnant, okay.
SPEAKER_01And you dealt with series so much.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Okay, so it was about the Tylenol causing autism thing. Oh my gosh. Oh, that's when we do like one more round. We're doing Haunted by the Past, get her a shot of Techilla. Oh, this was a good one. I cried during this episode.
SPEAKER_01Ground beef and stuff in, you know. And so, anyways, I go down into the creepy basement and and there was a freezer down there that we kept like ground beef and stuff in, you know? And so, anyways, I go down into the creepy basement and I'm just like walking through it towards the fridge. I literally I think something out of the corner of my eye, it was literally a double take moment for her. I turn and I look forward, and then I realize I'm like, there's an evil clown next to me. And I turn and it just goes and starts chasing me, and I ran up the stairs and locked the basement door. Um, my dad, yeah.
SPEAKER_05I mean, that's right. The time your dad my dad scared me insane. Love languages. I saw this muffin and I thought of you.
SPEAKER_01Which, like, I mean, it's possible to do a fun activity and it not be quality time because you're not thinking about the other. That's true.
SPEAKER_05I feel like whenever we do fun things together, it's but I feel like when we do fun things together, it feels like quality time because normally we're just at home watching TV or something. So when we plan out an activity, it's better quality time.
SPEAKER_01Which, like, I mean, it's possible to do a fun activity and it not be quality time because you're not thinking about the other. I feel like whenever we do fun things together, it does feel like quality time. Even my birthday present this year, Pete's birthday present to me, which I think we've mentioned, was literally dinner on her.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Same sentiment, kind of.
SPEAKER_05Um my birthday dinner was so good. Fuck. That was so good. Maybe let's just do each do maybe one more round of this. Okay. Oh, that's the Great Wolf Lodge one again. I'll do a different one. Ghosting, maybe he died. I'm gonna skip further this time. There's another sushi place near us. That's not Mirakuya. I wonder if it's okay. Anyways, do they have free delivery though? Probably not. Guys, we have a sushi place that guys, we have a sushi place that's like a two-minute walk away, but they have free delivery. So even though we could just go pick it up, we get it delivered every time. That's probably what you said.
SPEAKER_02Let's we have like every fast food place ever near us except for Wendy's.
SPEAKER_05There's another sushi place near us that's not Marikuya. Okay, anyways, do they have free delivery though? Probably not.
SPEAKER_02Guys, we have a sushi place that's probably like a two-minute walk away from our apartment that has free delivery. So we always just get it delivered for free. Oh, it's so close. Okay, it's a minute walk.
SPEAKER_05Dude, Rodney was being so judgy, not like actually, but when um I was like telling him about how we get it delivered, even though it's literally like a block away, he was like, You make those people like bring it and deliver when it's that they get a tip. True. I mean, hey. No, yeah, true. It's not that far for them. And then they get a tip for us. It's not that far for them either. And then I get to tip them. Yeah, true. Fair point. Maybe that's fair point. Hopefully that's not problematic. Yeah, I don't know. All right. Okay, our first episode. I landed on. Damn, that's people who own the farm brought us farm fresh eggs in the morning, and like we sat. Um, brought us farm fresh eggs in the morning, and we sat outside and made our fresh eggs, and then went to the Mall of America. People who owned the farm brought us farm fresh eggs in the morning, and like we sat in. We played with goats, and we had so many experiences like that. And then we ended in Michigan and Bolivia. That would have been good. I want us to give each other an object for fun. I'm gonna look in my bedside drawer and see what I can give you. I do I have to get up. No, I don't really have a bedside drawer. Is there anything on the floor over there? I ha there's something. I I know what I'm gonna give you. Okay. You guys, it's gift time. We're gonna surprise each other with objects. Should I close my eyes and feel it and try to guess what it is? Oh, wait, yeah, I like that. Okay, okay. It's gonna be hard. Wait, I'm gonna have to put my microphone in my knees. Oh yeah. Okay, I ready? Mm-hmm. Okay. I'm scared. I'm scared. Oh, it's the back scratcher. Yes, it's my back scratcher that I keep on my bedside table. Ah, that is nice. Yay! But I'm not actually I'm not actually giving it to you. What the fuck? They thought it was a gift. Just a pretend gift. Okay. Can I do one hand? If you want. Okay. Sounds like paper.
SPEAKER_03It's birth control.
SPEAKER_01Immediately, I knew. Yay! That was so fun. Funny. Awesome. That was the best game ever.
SPEAKER_05Best game. Before we wrap things up, we do have one more special thing to do at the end. But yes, before we don't leave yet.
SPEAKER_01Don't leave yet. We have something. I promise we have something else. We have something. We're doing something special. Don't leave. Something special. Something special. Stay until the end.
SPEAKER_05No, they can't. Before we do that, we have an announcement. It's good news and bad news. But mainly good. So the bad news is you guys aren't gonna get another sode for like a month. Yeah. Because we are taking a bit of a break. I'm taking a break. But the good news is we are using this break to revamp first season two.
SPEAKER_04Woo!
SPEAKER_05We've been consistent for an entire year, 52 episodes, which is awesome. And we're just feeling like we need a sec to not film any sods and chat about things, figure out how to make season two better for you guys. Yeah. Yeah. So I think that we've both just been feeling like, ooh, like obviously we love doing this every week, but I feel like maybe because it's been such a part of our routine, we've gotten in autopilot with it. We have gotten in autopilot. Really hard to feel inspired. And we were like, maybe this is the perfect opportunity to take a month away. But during that time, like obviously we rest and take a break, but we're giving ourselves the space to, I don't know, have ideas flow and actually plan for season two. Yes. Like Noelle said, like how we can make it better, how we can make it more intentional and talk about things we want to talk about and just feeling more inspired and like ready going into this next phase of the podcast, as opposed to just like doing it to do it, you know? Um, we just want to make it better and yeah. So we're we are taking a little break. I think it'll be really great for us. Um I think so too. Don't forget about us. Don't forget about us, y'all. We're still gonna be posting on socials and stuff, but we will not be recording any episodes. We definitely would also love feedback from you all, the listeners, if you have any ideas about new sewed topics you would like to hear, anything different you'd like us to do, anything that you've been hating that you want us to stop doing, um, just DM us. I'll be posting some polls and like questionnaires um throughout the next month on the Take It Home Instagram as well. So don't worry, we'll still be active on social media, um, posting some clips from older episodes and whatnot. And the good thing about podcasts is like, yeah, we may not be posting for the next few weeks, but we have 51 episodes that if you haven't listened to all of them, you can go catch up now. Exactly. And yeah, we won't be away for too long. We just really need to like regroup. We're gonna have a couple meetings. Yes, we're having meetings and meeting adjourned. It's gonna be awesome, and I'm really excited. Yay! I think it's so important with creative creativity. You need to take a step away sometimes to make it to come back better and feel inspired.
SPEAKER_01So also, like we proved to ourselves that we can do it. Like, we literally did 52 episodes.
SPEAKER_05That's crazy. We haven't had a break in a year from the podcast, which is crazy. I don't know how that's possible. Like it just became a part of our routine, yeah. It really did. Even like when we were on vacations and stuff. When we were apart, we would make sure that we recorded enough to like have stuff. When I was out of town, I was still editing, recorded in Florida. We recorded in Florida, like we did it, and it's been awesome. And and next season is just gonna be awesome or awesomer. All right, so that's that news. Yes. So aw, you won't hear from us for a month, but yay, because in a month things are gonna be bigger and better. And you can go listen to our episode. Always listen, yes. All right. Um, but we mentioned that there's something special. Here's the special thing. Okay. It's actually a special. I'm like, what I don't kind of want to cry. We have these little candles, which thank you, mom. I think you brought these for my birthday. And I don't think we ended up using them for my cake, but we're using them now. We are each, this is a birthday party. What do you do at a birthday party? You blow out candles and you make a wish. So that's what we're gonna do. We're gonna light these candles and we are going to make a wish. And I know typically you're not supposed to say what your wish is or it won't come true, but those rules don't apply here. Uh, take it home. Um, we are going to tell each other what our wish is for, I guess anything, like for the podcast, for the future, for our little community here, for ourselves, whatever you want it to be. And we're gonna blow it out. And that's that. All right. If you're not watching and you're just listening, we have two burgoy candles. The lights. Well, no, I don't. Because then we can't see. Okay. We have two candles here. Um, you go first. What's your wish for Take It Home? My wish is that in season two, we have a special guest that is someone that we both really look up to that we're not close and personal friends with. Don't know what that means yet, but just someone who, you know, like it would be yeah, I guess that's just what I'm saying. Someone that's not a close personal friend, but someone that we both know of and would be very excited to have on. I love that. Um, mine is really want this podcast to reach more people for season two. And I want, you know, if it can like impact just like one person out there, which maybe it is and we just don't know, but I I would love it to reach more people that we don't know. And I would love to like start building more community and engaging with the people who listen more, and that's my wish. Okay. One, two, three. Smoky, smoky. Yay! And that smells like birthday, but the take home is the take-home is that we love our take-it-home community and we can't wait for it to grow even more, and that you all need to not forget about us. Better not, and stay tuned for season two, which is very soon. It'll be soon. Like a month is not that long. It's not like we're like six months so fast. So before you know it, we love you guys. We love you. It's like so much. Seriously. I just remember when this was like a seed of an idea. And we just took it and ran with it. We planted seeds, we planted seeds, and you guys should go back and listen to our planting seeds sowed. Anyway, I'm so grateful and happy. And I love Take It Home, and it's gonna be weird to not record for a few months, but it's gonna be I mean, not a few months. Not a few months, not a few months. Don't worry, that's not what she meant to say. Um, a few weeks, yeah. But it's gonna be great, and we'll be working in the background. Oh we love you. We love you guys so much. Happy birthday, Take It Home. Why am I like sad? I know.
SPEAKER_04It's not even ending. It's like we're just taking a little break, but I'm sad. I love this podcast.
SPEAKER_05Take it home is one.
unknownOh, okay.
SPEAKER_05Bye, listen to us at follow us at yes, you can follow us at take it home pod on Instagram and TikTok, especially if you don't and you're a listener. Season one is over. Love you guys.
SPEAKER_04That's a wrap. Bye.
